We are on the lookout for a driven and experienced R&D Strategy planning specialist. The R&D Strategy Planning Specialist is accountable for management of several critical processes and systems within R&D. The overall goal of the role is to work with the R&D Leadership team to ensure that R&D resources are appropriately planned and utilized through a structured and disciplined resource management process, thereby securing tax benefits of several millions. The role operates with significant autonomy and requires the R&D Planning strategy Specialist to utilize an extensive breadth of R&D experience to be successful in its execution. In addition, the role ensures compliance from R&D to the requirements of the Combined Business Model.

The role is accountable for working closely with internal and external R&D tax consultants to understand R&D tax credit requirements in the key markets in which we operate, for the maximization of benefits available to JDE. This includes playing an integral part in the assessment of R&D project work for tax qualification, coaching the R&D Leadership Team and their managers to ensure that all claimable activities are identified and the resource management system is set up to successfully secure these, where necessary scoping and overseeing associated system upgrades and changes to ways of working.

The R&D Strategy Planning Specialist is accountable for leading the organization and coordination of the R&D resource and planning process, day to day management of the Resource Management system, including ownership of R&D user and project data accuracy, hours planning and tracking, and generation of resource reports and specialist data extractions for the R&D leadership team and internal and external Tax specialists for strategic resource decision making, Innovation Box, WBSO and UK R&D Tax reporting purposes.

Key responsibilities:

• Having sole responsibility for the generation, validation and issue of Monthly WBSO MMR Reports to RD&O VP and R&D leadership team.
• Having sole responsibility for the generation, validation and issue of Year end WBSO, Innovation Box and R&D UK Tax Claim reports to enable tax claim / subsidy applications.
• Identifying and independently performing first assessment of all newly opened JDE projects for WBSO tax subsidy qualification.
• Leading bi-yearly WBSO New project reviews and annual WBSO target setting process, liaising with the R&D leadership team and their managers, utilizing extensive cross category experience to ensure all new WBSO opportunities have been identified.
• Providing critical guidance to the R&D Leadership team, their Managers and Project Leaders across all categories, to identify opportunities to maximize WBSO qualification and time recording within their teams and project work.
• Executing Projects by leading the scoping and implementation of opportunities to continuously improve user experience of and manager analysis capabilities within the Resource Management Tool.
• Indirectly managing team of 6 Resource Champions in accurate team reporting and analysis.
• Building strong relationships with RD&O VP and  R&D leadership, internal and external R&D Tax advisors and Resource Management Software provider.
• Ensuring delivery of R&D AOP requirements on time and in full – in particular the R&D annual budget.
• Supporting & driving the preparation of the R&D VCP.
